Jane Burfoot who was struck down by a motorist
and taken to hospital has sent the following report:
"I am progressing well; my face is healing and changing colour daily. My jaw
is broken and will take a while longer to repair, along with missing teeth.
I was fortunate not to have any other broken bones but have extensive bruising
to my right side, elbows and knees.
Keith has arranged for us to see a solicitor next week. The police informed us
that the driver admitted that he was doing 50mph and turned into the lay-by and
that he didn't see me. We find it hard to understand why he didn't see me with
fluorescent number and flashing LED light; also he must have passed several
other riders before me.
Hope to be back on the turbo soon and get fit enough to race next year.
Keith and I would also like you to know that we have no problems with the
course and hope to be riding it again next year"
