On a very warm and blustery 28 June, Graham
Weeks fresh back from a holiday in France competed in the Elm Tree
Wheelers Open 25 on Hampshire roads and recorded 56.17.
It was a family day out for the May family on
the same day. Riding in the Newbury Road Club's 10 on course H10/1 Roy May
recorded 26.59 but was narrowly beaten by his grandson Tom Knight who
rides for Climb-on-Bikes of Hereford and who recorded 26.45, Grandma
Connie May decided to celebrate a special birthday by riding, and got out
her racing bike to clock 39.57. Also riding was Bill Gladwin who recorded
30.07. Afterwards the Mays were joined by other family members and friends
for a picnic birthday tea at Padworth.
Peter Jones continues to ride to success
every Tuesday evening. On the 17th June, although Peter won the final
sprint, he tied for leadership in the series; on the 24th he had another
win which edged him into the lead..
At the Hillingdon Circuit on the 18th, Simon
Williams was 2nd, but 1st in his age category in a LVRC event. Team mate
Scott Holmes was 6th and 3rd in his age category.
