Port Talbot 25 R25/3L
On a day which the country was blasted by storms, it turned out not to be so good for Time trialling or was it?
On this super fast course in Wales saw many riders still knocking out some fast times but with the micro climates in the area saw some slow rides and some PB's.
Unfortunately for Scott he had a head wind out, then got hit by a massive rain storm before the turn only to return with no tail wind.
Paul on the other hand had the wind out and a tail wind back but rode the last 12 miles in the cold rain.
Scott Holmes     56-55
Paul Egan           59-01

VTTA National 25 Champs E2/25  11th June
With a quality field of Veterans from all over the country Scott Holmes could only manage 13th reserve with his 57-14---12.54 on std. On this well known fast dual carriageway course on the A11/A14 near Cambridge. The organiser managed to fit Scott inbetween the last man and the tandem event on this breezy day. My target was to aim for 5-30 2.5 mile splits but at the turn with the a head wind it was down to a average split of 5-50. But on the return with the splits coming down to 5-30,5.05,4.39,4.50 saw my average come down to 5.32 given me a PB of 55-21.
Chris cruised around on his road bike and clocked 1-11-34 unofficial.
Scott Holmes          55-21 Overall 25th & 92nd on STD
Kevin Tye              49-57 Overall 1st &    34th on STD
Kevin Stewart        57-59 Overall 53rd &  1st on STD

Weston on the  Green Evening 25  7th May
Still tired from the Dragon ride Chris rode well on a windy evening to record his first 25 time for many years 1-13-54

High Wycombe 25 Marlow ski slop course 15th May
Morning started well and float but by start time we had that gusty wind back again which caught Scott Holmes out as he rode his deep section front wheel, and had problems with a speed wobble at 40 mph on the ski slop. He had to brake going down the hill when I went above 33 mph ,One rider  crashed and broke his collar bone.
Lesson learnt.
Scott beating a lot of his target men by 2 mins and caught no 40 for 2 mins rode well in the wind with a personal best beating his junior 25 time 58-27
Paul disappointed with his ride but determined to make progress, With Graham please and riding well.
Adam Topham       52-23  1st
Scott Holmes         57-14  5th PB
Paul Egan              1-01-54

Graham rode the Newbury road club 25 on the H25/1 25th April. He said I really should not have ridden because I had a bad cold although it was such a lovely day I could not resist. I did a 56:49 and came in tenth. an ok result considering how rough I felt. Sandra and I are off to our house in France tomorrow to see how it looks now the builders have finished ( we hope )
